Chapter II Goals and actions

§ 8

The association achieves its goals by:
1) organising symposiums, conferences, training and courses
2) publishing magazines, bulletins, books and others
3) creating and preparing educational programmes for schools
4) preparing educational films and social campaigns
5) creating local support networks for the disabled, both in rural and urban environment
6) supporting people in need financially and materially
7) creating and introducing new equipment, that can make life of the disabled easier
8) creating and running Information Centres for the Disabled in Poland
9) organising and promoting sport events
10) promoting initiatives, which can prevent the social exclusion of disabled people
11) promoting and advertising products and services for the disabled, their families and caretakers
12) creating and providing internet portals
13) providing counselling and employment exchange for the disabled

YOUR 1 % WILL BRING 100 % OF BENEFIT

Since 2004 every citizen of Poland can donate 1% of his income tax to a selected non-governmental organization, an organization that has a "public benefit" status. Non-governmental organizations do not work to make profit or to gain political power. Instead they fulfil a social mission. The Friends of Integration Association has such a mission. For more than 10 years we have been helping people with disabilities to live active and proud lives. We help them to take the first step after an accident, to find a new job, to solve everyday problems. Our activities improve Polish reality: we fight architectural barriers, open Information and Educational Centres, organise social and educational campaigns, run an internet portal www.niepelnosprawni.pl. We are also a publisher of the Integracja magazine - the biggest Polish magazine for the disabled, as well as manuals and guidebooks.

If you find our mission interesting and would like to help us, you can transfer 1% of your income tax to Integracja.

I established the Friends of Integration Association because I found the experience of going through my own disability very painful. Also, the inability of others to deal with their disability motivated me to take action.

After my accident it took me a very long time before I was able to get back to normal life. I was totally helpless with my disability and barriers which surrounded me everywhere. It is really reassuring therefore that the activities of Integracja are already showing some results but at the same time I realize that we still have a long way to go before we reach our goals.
